2/21（土）にKDDI様の渋谷ヒカリエオフィスのイベントスペース
ロボット x AI アイデアソンを開催いたしました。
The Robot x AI Ideathon was held at KDDI's Shibuya Hikarie Office on Feb 21st (sat).

講師にIGDA日本ゲームAI専門部会代表の三宅陽一郎様にお迎えし
小学生、大学生、ベテランの社会人などバラエティに富んだ
総勢約40名の方に参加頂きました。
We had the pleasure of having Mr. Yuichiro Miyake,
head of AI Working Group of IGDA join us and lecture about the AI.
There were approx. 40 diverse participants including an elementary school boy,
university students and experienced professionals.

三宅様の講演後は各グルーブで
2020年東京オリンピックが開催される年に
大流行するAI + ロボットなサービス/プロダクトに関して
ブレストを行いました。
After Mr. Miyake's lecture participants brainstormed about
services or products which combine AI x Robot
that will be very popular in 2020 when the Tokyo Olympic will be held.

  

三宅さんの講演内容やみなさんに発表頂いたアイディアも
また後日レポートいたしますので少々お待ちください。
We will report about details from Mr. Miyake's lecture
and everyone's ideas that were presented.

プログラミング言語スクラッチ界の第一人者の阿部和広先生が出演されています！
The Japanese father of programming language Scratch, Kazuhiro Abe is starring in the show!  

尾木ママは基本的に子どもは子どもらしく外で遊ぶべきと言う考えをお持ちのようですが、
阿部先生の熱いトークにより、プログラミングも一つの表現および学びの
手段であることをご理解いただいたようです！
尾木ママと阿部先生のやりとりを拝見するのが楽しみですね。
Mr. Ogi believes that kids should be like kids and play outside.
Yet with Mr. Abe's passionate talk about programming,
he seems to have been convinced that
programming is a form of expression and learning for kids!
It will be interesting to watch the conversion between these two teachers.

先日Scratch2Romoの発表会を行った際に阿部先生にもご講演頂き、
教育現場で活用されているプログラミング言語「スクラッチ」の現状や、
「スクラッチ」での創作活動で子どもたちが得られるものなどお話いただきました。
At our media presentation for Scratch2Romo, 
we had the opportunity to be joined by Mr. Abe.  
He talked about the programming language used in many schools "Scratch"'s 
current situation and what kids can gain from creative activities with Scratch.  

主なキーワードは「プログラミングで学ぶ」、「学ぶことを学ぶ」、
「プログラミングは表現手段の一つ」。
Key phrases in Mr. Abe's talk were "Learning by programming", 
"Learning to learn" and "Programming as a form of expression".

おわりに

以上いかがでしたでしょうか、今回のWebRTC Conferenceの展示デモでは、WebRTCを利用したSkyWayとRomoデモンストレーションを実施させて頂きました。実際には以下のような様々な活用方法が考えられます。

・各種イベントでのアミューズメント活用

・在宅勤務者とのコミュニケーション

・海外、国内遠隔地とのミーティング

・教育ツール（遠隔施設見学、遠隔家庭教師）

・（両手作業しながら）のカスタマーサポート

Scratch x Romo Workshop @ Miraikan

About Workshop / ワークショップ内容

世界初のRomoをScratchでプログラムするワークショップが2015年2月7日（土）と8日（日）の二日間、日本科学未来館の「クラブMiraikan」の会員様向けに開催されました。2日間で合わせて19名の小学生と中学生が参加してくださいました！

The world's first workshop for programming Romo with Scrtach was held on Feb 7 (sat) and 8 (sun) at the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan).19 elementary and junior high school students participated over the 2 days.

　

ワークショップの流れ /Workshop Agenda ：

■ロボットとプログラミングの話 / About Robots and Programming

■今日のポイント・ロボットの使い方 / Today's tips and how to use the robot

■ロボットを動かしてみましょう / Let's try moving the robot

■ロボットを工夫して、ミッションに挑戦 / Let's clear the mission with your original movements

スクラッチ経験者は両日とも3-4名で、中にはPCの操作に不慣れなお子様もいらっしゃいました。やはりスクラッチで画面上でアニメーションを動かすことと実物のRomoを動かすことは異なり、スクラッチ経験者だからうまくミッションをクリアできるわけでもありませんでした。むしろスクラッチ初心者のお子様の方がうまくクリアできていました。

There were 3-4 students who had used Scratch before in each class but there were also students who were not familiar with using computers. Yet controlling animation on the screen with Scratch was different from controlling and actual moving robot Romo and so it did not mean that experienced Scratch users were the ones that cleared the mission.  Actually the novice Scratch users were the ones who were good at clearing the mission,  

今回は限られた時間の中でのワークショップであったため実際のRomoの動きは、Romoのアプリで設定できる内容ではありましたが、スクラッチでは組んだプログラムの全貌を確認しやすく、またより細かく動きを設定でき、思い通りの動きを設定できていました。

またPCの画面でプログラムを設定するためまわりのお子様とシェアしながら、お互いのプログラムの良いところを活かし協力しながら取り組めるところがRomoアプリを使った場合と異なる点でした。

Since these kinds of workshop have time constrains, the movements used to clear the mission were movements one can program on the original Romo App.　Yet programming with Scratch allowed the students to be able to confirm the entire program　and also program more detailed movements to create their desired movements.  Also programming with a computer allowed the students to share each other's program and use the good elements of each program to work together to clear the mission.  These were some differences from programming with the Romo App and with Scratch.  

参加されたお子様方は皆とても実践的なロボットの動きをプログラミングする体験をすることができ

またなによりスクラッチとRomoで楽しんでいました！

Overall the students had a good hands on experience with programming robots and most of all they had fun with Scratch and Romo!
